About Us

Since 1990, the mission of MOASC is to “ensure access to quality and affordable care for cancer patients within their communities.” MOASC has represented more than 400 oncologists in California and neighboring states. MOASC is the source of valuable information for their members through their weekly newsletter the California Oncology Weekly, monthly webinars, meetings and practice management consulting. MOASC is recognized as a premiere oncology society representing both national and state issues affecting the delivery of oncology. MOASC strives to continue to succeed in ensuring the continued practice of oncology care regardless of the setting, thereby insuring greater access to oncology treatments for the cancer patient.


Warren H. Fong, M.D.

Warren H. Fong, MD is a Hematologist & Oncologist, he graduated from Mount Sinai School of Medicine of New York University in 1989 and has been in practice for 27 years. He completed a residency at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

Lawrence D. Piro, M.D.

Dr. Lawrence D. Piro is the President and CEO of The Angeles Clinic and Research Institute and he has achieved worldwide recognition for developing new cancer drugs. Dr. Piro has an extensive research background and experience in the health field. He is board certified in oncology and internal medicine. He received his medical degree from the Washington University School of Medicine and completed post-graduate training at Barnes Hospital and Washington University. Before joining The Angeles Clinic and Research Institute, he served as head of the Division of Hematology and Oncology, the director of the Ida M. and Cecil H. Green Center and Executive Vice President at Scripps Clinic, San Diego, California. He is also a Clinical Professor of Medicine at University of Southern California.

Michael J. Schlutz, M.D.

Dr. Michael J. Schlutz graduated from the Georgetown University School of Medicine in 1970. He works in Newport Beach, CA and specializes in Hematology/Oncology. Dr. Schlutz is affiliated with Hoag Memorial Hospital and UC Irvine Medical Center. He has been appointed a clinical professor of Medicine at UC Irvine.

Mariana S-B Lamb, M.S.

Mariana S-B Lamb received her Master of Science in Health Care Administration from the University of Riverside. As Executive Director of the Medical Oncology Association of Southern California, Inc. she successfully assisted in lobbying state legislators in approving off-label use of chemotherapy drugs. She continues to meet with the medical directors of major California insurance carriers. She produces the associations' monthly reimbursement and legislative newsletter.

The staff at the Medical Oncology Association of Southern California has extensive experience in the medical field, providing a solid foundation on which the company has been able to grow and expand. Our goal is to meet the ever changing needs within the medical practice community and preserve patient's access to care, while enabling the physician to practice medicine in a financially sound a stable environment.

Our office has cumulatively over fifty years of experience in practice and accounts receivable management.
