As healthcare legislation becomes ever more intricate and complex, the survival of the community based oncologist will depend on fervent efforts enacted by the oncology community.

MOASC endeavors to stay engaged in the core concepts of community based cancer care, and is committed to keeping the membership and community at large informed of changes that could threaten or enhance the role of the community oncologist from a state or federal level.

It is important that each and every practitioner and each and every patient they treat understand the value their voice has in the efforts to keep healthcare legislation and policy changes stable and progressive. To help physicians understand and benefit from the State of California’s new fair payment practices regulations, CMA has developed the interactive “Payor ABUSE MATTERS - REACT NOW ” CD-ROM. The CD is available free to members, and to nonmembers for $100. A printed version is available to members for $25 ($125 for nonmembers).
