96412 - Medicare Miscalculates / 03.22.04
NOTICE: The Medicare software file incorrectly attributed .12 RVU's for the work component of 96412. The work component should have been .17. CMS has corrected the error for claims received after April 5, 2004, however carriers will NOT be reprocessing the underpaid claims through mass adjustments for claims received prior to this date. Providers should appeal claims for 96412 that are submitted prior to April 5, 2004.
