NHIC Medicare (California Part B Carrier)
National Heritage Insurance Company (NHIC) is the Medicare Part B contractor for California. Their website provides a variety of updated reference and policy information to assist you in the process of claims and other communications within the Medicare Part B program.
MOASC meets and corresponds regularly with representatives from NHIC, including the Carrier Medical Director, where issues relating to oncology policy and reimbursement are addressed one on one.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is a Federal agency within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Programs for which CMS is responsible include Medicare , Medicaid , State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) , HIPAA , and CLIA .
CMS is responsible for implementing the federal guidelines for the Medicare program. MOASC, ASCO and other state and national organizations discuss oncology issues with CMS officials and the impact of Medicare policies on the practicing oncologist.
